Introduction

What TDP Does?
We offer tasteful, well designed bags and wallets for people with physical disabilities.

Currently all bags made for wheelchairs and other mobility devices are not as functional as they could be and certainly have no sense of style.

A more functional bag could aid in lessening a persons disability by giving them more independence. It is also my belief that everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves through fashion! It’s more than than runways and glossy magazines. It’s a form of self expression with out having to say a word because whether we like it or not our peers will judge us with out even talking to us.

TDP offers its customers the same variation of choice and style afforded by other consumers, while keeping in mind special needs like limited dexterity and mobility assisted devices. Through research and experience TDP bags are designed to serve a consumer who is much underserved.

“The useful tools of Civilization come first and then Beauty is added. If a thing is to satisfy modern man, it must be beautiful as well as useful
Gustav Jensen

Jeneé & Angenique Naquin = Design & Function
Jeneé is a Handbag designer who studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and has worked on luxury brands, special market brands and with celebrity designers.

Angenique is an Occupational Therapist who studied at Lousiana State Medical Center and has 10+ years of practicing. She specializes in geriactric care and other patients with physical disabilities.

When a very special person, Donovan, started asking Jeneé to design a handbag for his wheelchair she thought "Sure, I would love to, but how". Then this question kept occuring everytime Jeneé would meet someone with physical disabilities. In the Fashion Handbag Industry there are more bags to choose from than anyone needs, yet in the Wheelchair Bag Industry the choices are few. Casually, Jeneé and Angenique began to talk about ideas over the phone. After a few months of this they delved into the project and made the first concrete steps towards The Donovan Project. They talked to patients about their physical needs and fashion tastes. From research and their years of experience in therapy and fashion, the first bags were designed to service a consumer very underserved.

Who is Donovan?
Donovan and Jeneé met in New Orleans through an organization, Best Buddies (www.bestbuddies.org) while she attended Loyola University.

Instantly Jeneé knew Don was a very special person and was amazed at how much she could learn from him. While best buddies works with individuals who are intellectually challenged, Don is not. He is phyically handicapped because of the disease cerebral palsy. His patience with accomplishing everyday activities like just trying to speak and unwaivering good mood under such confined conditions was a constant reminder that all of us have no reason to let any of life's challenges ever be too great to get in the way of enjoying it.
